What's happening in 2019?

In addition to working with several new clients in one-to-one Accent Mastery sessions, I'll also be beginning the year by being the dialect coach for Inkbrew Productions for the play 'Adhesion of Love' penned by Stephen Hornby!

This follows on from working with Durham-based Elysium Theatre Company in 2018 with their production of Jez Butterworth's play 'The River' as well as Play with Fire's production of 'The Effect' by Lucy Prebble.

Check out my twitter page for updates on this, and other theatre work I'll be assisting with throughout the year:

Following on from Standard American Accent Workshops in Manchester and London in 2018, I'm delighted to offer new group workshops throughout 2019!

These will be delivered to adult actors and acting students and will be planned soon so email me your interest at:

In addition to the workshops for adults, I will also be delivering group workshops for child actors in Manchester.

Follow my twitter page and email me directly for planned dates in the months ahead!

We all know that auditions and castings can be very short-notice, often demanding an accent which requires professional mentoring.

The Audition Support sessions are designed to assist in providing the actor with techniques that elevate performance, whilst making sure the accent targeted remains consistent.

Several clients use this service to work on accents as well as their performance for major roles in FILM/TV/THEATRE.

I'm delighted to have assisted Callum Booth-Ford, who was cast successfully in 'Peaky Blinders' Series 5!

Callum is represented by Purple Giraffe, and has also been earning rave reviews for his performance in ITV's, 'Butterfly.'

Purple Giraffe offer excellent representation to up-and-coming child stars of stage and screen throughout the UK and I'm delighted to be working with their clients for last-minute castings, as well as teaching their clients about performing truthfully in a fun way!

Other clients have also booked work in 2018 and 2019 due to Audition Support sessions, so check the Twitter page for these announcements!

I'm also very pleased to help clients auditioning for Drama Schools in Europe and USA for the same price as acting support sessions!

Once the dotted line has been signed, there is usually an amount of trepidation before the first rehearsal, especially if the accent needs work and there is uncertainty about acting choices.

The Acting Support sessions allow me to work with the actor to work specific accent requirements, whilst also testing options for character portrayal using text analysis and trying out different intonations.

This leads to a creative, exciting dynamic whereby the actor can feel safe in trying out their line delivery, whilst receiving technical tips and advice.

I'm delighted to have worked with Joe Gill on a Sheffield accent for his performance as 'Lomper' in his tour of 'The Full Monty' in 2018.

I've also assisted Adam Thomas with a Standard American accent for his debut musical role in Nativity! at the Empire Theatre last year. Brilliant work, chaps!

If you've got a demanding role and you wish to walk into your rehearsal with confidence, book an Acting Support session by emailing me today!

Clients enjoy sessions and I love helping them!

You can find testimonials from current clients simply by following the twitter page!

In addition to the workshops I deliver independently, I will also be delivering accent group workshops for Jim Cartwright again in 2019.

I also look forward to assisting Oldham Coliseum Theatre's Full Circle performance of 'A Skull in Connemara' with the Southern Irish accent, which will be running in February 2019!

Finally, I will be commencing the new term of DNA's Building Blocks - Beginners Acting Class on Wednesday 23rd January.

This will be the fourth term since I took over the reins, and it's been brilliant to see the progress and enjoyment in just 10 weeks!

DNA run acting classes in Deansgate, Manchester for beginners, children, teens and professional actors.

Led by Darren Gordon and a series of tutors (including me!), it's a lovely organisation to work with and you can read more about DNA here:

Here's a photo of my last group at DNA, who were amazing! (I know, look at me showing off!)

Jim Cartwright Workshops

I keep forgetting to take photos!

However, I did manage to remember for these workshops I delivered for Jim Cartwright last year!

Feedback was brilliant and it seems everyone enjoyed the challenge -- I look forward to working with them in 2019!
